Invaders!

Hi,

These little devils have decimated my Cauliflowers image

Can anyone identify what they are, caterpillars of course, but i mean what type image

Also any advice for getting rid of them as I seem to have lots of them and lots and lots of what im assuming are eggs - see picture.

Thanks

JC

  • Hi Jason,

I think the top photo is cabbage moth and in the second photo the same (brown one) and a small white butterfly (green one).

Wait for confirmation though as there are far better bug IDers than me on here.

I don't have any advice on getting rid other than picking them off or having a mesh covered cage as a preventative measure. I don't use sprays so I don't know what is safe to use.

I'm sure someone will be along to advise shortly.

The butterflies/moths can get in through surprisingly small gaps in the netting - or lay their eggs through it if a leaf is close to or touching it.  Brassicas are a never-ending source of trouble, I find.  image
