Green grub in nearly all my plums

Hi I am new to the forum but would really like some advice. Last year my plum tree was fab, loads of lovely plums. This year there is a hole in nearly every plum and when you open it it has  a green grub in them. Does anyone please have any idea what this is and how I can treat it? It looks like the leaders are starting to be eaten too so two of the branches look like they are dyingimage  any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Plum moth. You need to treat yourself to a pheromone trap. This does not stop the problem altogether, but it does help. If you are into spraying, when you see the moths in the trap, you know when to spray the tree.

Also helps if you give the tree a Winter Wash with insecticidal soap.

Not sure why leaves should be dying though. Could just be the weather.
