No Strawvberries this year

I have a strawberry planter that I planted with last years runners, plenty green leaves and looks very healthy but has not had any fruit.   Should I expect it in the first year?

I wouldn't expect a crop on first year runners.  You will get a good crop of fruit next year though, as you have healthy growth of leaves.image

Agree - if runners have good roots and are planted before about September then they will usually give a small crop following June but if planted much later you usually need to wait a year.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
