clematis seeds

One of my early flowering clematis has made lots of seeds. Does anyone know how to germinate and grow them on?

Hi Posy, yes they need sowing so that they get a winter chill. You can sow them as soon as they're completely ripe. If you have a fancy cultivar it probably won't seed true,
Gritty compost, more grit on top, a cold frame is good, no propagator or other forms of heat. It's the cold that will break dormancy
In the sticks near Peterborough
Thank you, I'll give it a try!
