Can Cordylines be split?

  • Hi Thanks everyone for your advice but now I'm a little confused can anyone tell by looking at my photo whether mine is a phormium or a coryline please?

    Nans, yours is a cordyline.

    Sorry Nans garden, off at a tangent as usual! Whatever yours is - mine is identical, and as it was grown from seed,and has a trunk, i strongly suspect both are cordylines image

    I think the confusion has come from my neglect of mine which has made it difficult to deal with.

  • Thanks Bamboogie, Philippa and everyone glad that's cleared up ha. Verdun from what you say about controlling your cordyline do you have it in a large pot or are they in the ground? I think I would like to leave them as they are and just enjoy them as was suggested by Philippa but will they become pot bound if just left in an enclosed pot?
