Strange aubergine plant

One of my aubergine plants is growing funny things:

They look like stems of plantain but I have looked really hard and there are only aubergine leaves! Picture 3 shows one of these stalks growing from the base of the plant. Any ideas? Thanks, Janet

Janet - I don't think the leaf in pic no.3 is an Aubergine leaf - sorry
The leaves in pic no.2 are different to each other so I reckon you have a weed and an Aubergine very close together
