    HI Chris - and Chris!

Hope you enjoy the forum image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thanks,

We're in North Hampshire. The garden is a bit of a wilderness and runs West to East. I grow most of my veggies against the South facing fence.

The soil is terrible, running sand with no nutrients to speak of.

Running along I have sage, chives, garlic (just been "harvested") onions, one runner bean, tomatoes, sweet peas, lettuce, bay, rosemary, thyme, onions, turnip, raspberries, dwarf cherry (Maynard) sweet peas, horseradish (pot) very small greenhouse (6 x 2) runner beans in two huge pots.

The north facing fence is a bit of a jungle, with camellias, pieris, hardy fuchsias, clematis, random roses, dozens of pots and a solitary courgette. image

It is a bit of a battle to grow anything worthwhile, although my runners are very promising (moonlight) and my broad beans were OK.

I'm afraid I'm one of those "another stupid question" gardeners, so you'll have to be patient with me image
