Poor Fruit

I purchased an apple tree of the family type last year and the fruit was ok. but this year it blossomed in the season, but the fruit is very small and skin of of apples is shriveled up, also the leaves went all brown. I wonder if someone can help me with how I can solve this problem and provide a remedy.
