Possible new variety on my Japanese acer

I'm think my Japanese acer has grown a new species from the same stem it's not grafted on and friends think the same. Who do I contact to get it checked out

It's called reversion, you need to pull it off

Have you got a photo of the normal bit and the altered bit?

is the acer normally variegated and this bit is not, or the other way around?

the acer is normally varietgated with wispy leaves and the new growth more two tone different coulour with a maple leave style.  I've tried to attach a photo but it's not letting me at the moment.  Ill try later.

I've not heard of reversion before or clear what it means.

Joy start by using the green tree in the top for loading pics

Reversion is when a variegated plant will suddenly produce a non-variegated green shoot. This shoot is normally more vigorous than the variegated ones and needs to be pulled/cut off.

Perhaps your photo is too big. Try resizing it to something like 1000 pixels by 800 pixels and try that.

I upload pics in excess of 2mb - the site appears to re-size automatically.

This is how I do it on a PC -

    Click the Insert Image/Video button

    Then click on Select
A new window will open which allows you to choose the photo you want to upload.

Click on that photo then click Open, then click Upload - it will take a while to complete the upload and nothing seems to happen, it may take up to a minute or so to complete.

The photo probably needs to be in .jpg format
