Those are very long legs, and I can't see a thorax

from what I can find out there are several types, one of which is also known as the Wasp Beetle because it looks so much like a wasp http://www.wildlifetrusts.org/species/wasp-beetle
I think you are right Dove, just went outside and he is still there, so cute and personally I think better looking than the one on the website link
