  I think it's a Black & Yellow Longhorn Beetle  http://www.uksafari.com/longhorn_black_and_yellow.htm 

  from what I can find out there are several types, one of which is also known as the Wasp Beetle because it looks so much like a wasp http://www.wildlifetrusts.org/species/wasp-beetle
