Have I got a really tall Holyhock?
in Talkback
Im a novice but i think Ive got a really tall hollyhock - Can anyone tell me why it may have grown so well in a patch of my garden that I thought would never have enough nutrients for anything to grow (under the decking/shady/covered in stones) a family member planted it last year on a whim and look how well its doing!
The record is almost 20ft mine is currently at 15ft.

its because they like dry poor soil and that's why sometimes you see them growing well next too walls.
So would clay soil suit them? And can they be left in the ground over winter (the ones I have are perennials).
