Can anyone ID this Plant Please?

Dear Forum Members,
Does anyone know what this mystery plant is?
It has missed a prune at some point in the last few months, and is now at about 5-6ft although it can’t support it’s own height and is staked up. It has tiny, very pretty purple flowers, arrange in three clusters, in a bit of a trident formation.
It has a very distinctive stem which, if you cut in half (or break, as I accidentally did – see the out-of-focus picture I’ve pasted) you will see that the stems have a square profile. The stem is also a bit serrated and will cut you if you brush past it, a bit like the blades on pampas grass. Leaves seem sparse.

Verbena bonariensis.... everyone seems to be growing it these days....even I've got it...lol..
I myself have never seen it before. I see that it's Argentinian, and as time goes by, I am appreciating that our garden which was new to us just 8 months ago, it is far more international that I realised. Many thanks!!!
It's a great plant which many of us grow because it provides height without overwhelming other things (as it has virtually no leaves.)
..I'm glad you like it... it's a plant I love to see from afar, but when I get close up, I keep asking myself why I've got it... it's one of those plants for me.... but it's deservedly popular really... it should seed itself readily I think...
