beech

My new home has a recently planted beech (tree or hedge?). How do I train it into a tree and how big will it get?

In time a beech tree can reach 50 metres in height - do you really want it to grow into a tree?  How big is your garden?

If you have a normal sized garden there are lots of much smaller trees you can choose from.

And mature trees shed gillions of seeds which grow into new trees

Beech can be clipped to whatever size  or shape you want.

I've seen 50 meter tall beech trees, but I've also seen neatly trimmed beech hedges 3 foot tall and a 18 inch tall 70 year old beech bonsai tree, you can trim it to any height you need.
