Poorly oliver tree - advice please!
Hi, I've got an olive tree which lives indoors in a pot overwinter, but in a sun room in the summer. I've seen an infestation of scale insects, which I've manually removed (yuk!) and also many of the leaves had curled with a caterpillar inside (I don't think that they are causing the scale infrestation). I've picked off all the infected leaves.
The result is a sad looking olive tree (about four foot high and sparse in its pot) and I'd love to know what I can do now to give it some TLC etc etc. Should I fertilise it, leave it outdoors in the sunshine, or what?
Many thanks for your advice! JennyJ

I agree with Philippa - olives are much happier outside - preferably planted in the ground in a sheltered sunny spot - but if in a pot protect the pot with a few layers of bubblewrap in the winter and keep the compost/soil on the dry side. Cold on it's own won't harm olives, but cold and wet together will make them very unhappy.
