My smooth blue cypress

Hi there i have just brought two smooth blue cypress's and i want to put them either side of my front door however it only gets the morning sun as its north facing

Would you just put them there and see what happens?  it said they need loads of sun but there evergreen so figured they would be ok please shed some light as i don't want these lovely plants to die

    Cupressus arizonica?  RHS info says they like full sun, but I guess that providing they get sun at some part of the day, and are not crowded by other plants, they should be ok.  But beware - they can reach 12 metres tall apparently!  You may need to trim them regularly to keep them in check.

    I've never grown these myself but there was a row of them where I worked some years ago. The blueness was less where they were more shaded
