Chilis Shrivelling
Hello all,
I have some chills (cayennes) growing in the balcony. They've been doing fairly well and have quite a heavy crop of fruit. They've started to ripen now, but at the same time they're going a little soft and shrivelled. The rest of the plants look healthy (except for one plant whose leaves are yellowing).
Is this normal? Should I be worried?
Thanks for any advice,
Owen.

silly question perhaps, but are you watering / feeding enough in this very warm weather?? I'm watering my polytunnel twice a day.
Thanks both,
Pretty sure I'm watering and feeding enough, yes. And (apart from one plant) the leaves look good. Weather has been a bit grotty lately, so perhaps that's it.
Ommthree, do I understand that it's the chilli fruits themselves that are shrivelling, not the leaves?

Hello Dove,
Yes, that's right. One plant has yellowing leaves, but the other three look very healthy. Actually, closer inspection has revealed that the shrivelling has not affected all of the fruit, only some of them.
Hi Buddyboy,
Thanks for that. It's a possibility, though my fertiliser combination should have a decent amount of calcium. I guess I'll cross my fingers and hope it doesn't spread to any of the others.
