Kilmarnock Willow
I bought a Kilmarnock Willow a few months ago. It has new branches growing from fairly low down its trunk, which are sprouting upwards in a non-willow like fashion. This new growth has long thin leaves, not like the rest of the plant at all. Can anyone tell me:
What is the new growth?
Why is it happening?
Do I need to get rid of it for my plant to survive?
Thanks for your imput.

I should think the new growth is very willow-like
These plants are grafted onto some other willow rootstock at that is throwing up shoots. Remove them, they'll be bigger than Kilmarnock in no time

Oh thank you for your help. You are right - the leaves are willowy.
