Red thread, rust or something else ?

Hello

I thought the lawn might have rust, but now I'm not so sure.  Does anyone know what is this and how best to treat it.  Thank you.  Have put so much care into the lawn its kind of depressing to see I seem to be messing it up.

Thank you for any advice. x

Do you have a pic showing where those bits are Peanuts? Is it just a few bits here and there or in bigger areas, and are those areas different from other parts of your grass in some way - wetter, shadier, drier etc.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

It started off where we had a pond early on in the year due to flooding in the garden, where it was under water for about a month.  It seems to be spreading round the garden, i guess maybe from cutting the lawn. will take some photo's tomorrow.

I'm not an expert Peanuts but a picture of the whole area will help solve the issue, unless someone comes along with the answer right away for you.  I expect the long term flooding is the reason though. image
