Rose advice
I have a rosa masquerade which I planted earlier this year. It is growing well and I have been training it along my fence. It has not flowered at all, and now all of a sudden there are 7 new and very vigorous shoots coming from the very bottom of the plant, all with 7 leaves. I am not sure whether to leave them, or whether they will take over and stop the original rose from growing. They are a different colour to the original 5 leaved branches. Will they flower differently to the rest of the rose? Should I remove them?

If they come from below the graft they're suckers regardless of number of leaflets. If that is the case they will be very different flowers

I had a rose with what I thought as a sucker, and in my novices over enthusiastic manner pulled it off , then I got good advice on here, wished I hadn't but it has grown perfectly fine since, someone here, sorry can' t remember who, said dig gently, even eith your fingers, around the base to see where shoots are coming from, if suckers pull off ASAPASAP
Hi, thanks for the responses guys!! The new shoots are actually coming from the very bottom of the plant, one is from the bottom of main stem, the rest are from the knobbly bit that the main stem comes from, which I guess is the root stock, that is why I am suspicious of them. Not sure if they are coming from the graft or the root stock, either way they are extremely close. None of them are underground.
