Snails or slugs by the sound of it.

Any chance of a pic Chris? I agree with Dave, as pidgeons shouldnt have been able to get in, a pic may give us more clues image

Brassicas annoy me.  So many things cann go wrong with them.  Pigeons, caterpillars, slugs/snails, root fly, club root, other fungal diseases.  I don't even like the taste much.  Hmmm... looks like I've just talked myself out of growing them.  Anyone else reached the same conclusion?

Not me - when we came here I swore they were too much trouble and I wouldn't grow them in this garden, but last year I  succumbed to the lure of some Purple Sprouting Broccoli plants in the nearly dead section at the GC and we dined off wonderful PSB all this spring and early summer, so of course we're growing some more this year.

The other day I inspected the underside of the leaves and removed lots of butterfly eggs - the slug pubs are kept topped up and I'm going to get some beach windmills to keep the pigeons at bay image
