    I've successfully kept both peppers and chilies over the winter in a cool room.  It's important that they don't get below 5C or they will pop their clogs.  Not all of them usually survive though.  On a holiday in the South of France many years ago I saw a chilli plant growing by the front door of a small chateau - it was apparently nearly 10 years old and huge - a good 8 feet tall, 3 feet wide and smothered in fruit! image

    Wowsers! That's a lot of peppers.
