Pruning

I planted a weigela in the spring.  it seems to be growing well and i have two shoots that have gone crazy.  Should I be cutting those two strong shoots back or leaving them ?

Apologies I'm clueless when it comes to pruning...

Thank you for any advice.

    I would cut them back.

I think I agree.  If you don't cut them back your weigela will be very ungainly.  It should branch out from the place you cut it to, and become nice and bushy.

You seem to have three stems there peanuts, cut them back to a leaf axil just below the the bushy growth below. New growth will come from the cuts.
