Similar to lots but can't find a match
Hi i planted some seeds in a bare border, nothing came of them, but then a few weeks ago i noticed this plant appear, it's not one of the seeds, but i'm not sure if it's a keeper or a weed. I've tried searching online and i've seen plants similar but not the same, the closest was venus's looking glass but thats got 4 petals on the flower, this has 5, the petals are formed in a star shape some are two toned with lilac for the most part put pink tips, some are all pink.
Can anybody give me a heads up on what it might be?

Regards
Den

Borage.usually the flowers are blue stars, but sometimes pink(on the same plant)
Thanks fidgetbones, having researched your suggestion, you are absolutly right, thats exactly what it is. I'm amazed to find it's actually edible too. So i guess it's a keeper.
It's an annual so you'll have to let it seed to keep it.
It will seed

Good with Pimms

I freeze the individual flowers into ice cubes for posh pimms.
Seeds everywhere but looks like a weed so I always pull it up too early - got one this year though and will try in Pimms
I had this in my garden when we moved in, and left it for one year! Bad move, it seeded everywhere and was a devil to get rid of. I now pull up all but just on or two plants as soon as they appear, that way I have some leaves but not a garden full of borage.
