Garden tree help
in Talkback
We have a flowering cherry tree which is about seven years old and is situated close to a lawn. The roots have obviously spread under the lawn and are very near the surface as you can feel them with your feet. We are now getting little tree saplings popping up. What is the best way to deal with this without harming the tree? Should be dig them out or would that make it worse??

Cheers - many thanks. Are we ok just leaving the roots under the lawn or should they really be dug out?
OK many thanks - you have saved us doing more harm than good.
