You can also dry them on the plant as long as they are indoors.  Simply stop watering them once they have turned ripe.  image

Well, it was confirmed this weekend that the bhut jolakia I was growing which I thought was too big to be bhut jolakia... Was infact not bhut jolakia!

Pretty gutted I was sold the seeds on eBay claiming that they were when infact they were not!

So I have a question, could anybody point me in the right direction to getting the right seeds from trusted places so next year I don't waste most the year growing something which isn't what it's meant to be?

I have no idea what it is that I've actually grown but they're large chillies with a small amount of heat. I'll upload a picture when I'm next on the computer as I can't do it on my phone (which by the way, if there's a moderator reading this.. It would be a pretty cool idea to add that feature for us phone webbers =) )

Thanks in advance ladies and gents.

Hi Dan - can't help you re the chilli you've grown, but if you start a new thread with a title like 'where can I get specialist chilli seeds' it will have more chance of getting some replies from those who do  know. image

Those look more like the ones you can roast whole or stuff with something don't they?

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Hi dan c sorry I haven't been around I'm not I. The best of health but bhut jolakia seeds are available from South devon chilli farm. They also sell compact plants next year...

Just wanted to pop In and say hi to all and I hope u all have great harvests of chillis. Although mine have suffered a little neglect from me being ill atm they have done so well . They are still outside and ripening with frequent picking some are still even flowering.... Me and Mr g have now developed a drop dead ace amazeballs bbq sauce and with our chipotle and sweet chilli sauce we will be hopefully back selling them next year ( this is not an advert apologies) take care peeps

Lots of hugs to you Stacey, and to your family too.  Looking forward to you being restored to health and gardening in time for the next growing season image
