Bay not happy

  • thanks for your thoughts - I'll clear a bit, and pray for it.
I had a bay tree there before which grew and grew (almost too much) - for quite a while - though my nasty neighbour regrettably removed it - and this one was put in instead a while back.
I suppose I tend to think that ground needs coverage, which may be why I haven't 'weeded' it - perhaps I was wrong...
  • oh, yes, 2014  - that is a while ago - I guess I was trying to build on someone else's thread rather than creating a new one - also suppose I thought I might learn from a similar issue etc.

I don't understand - how can the neighbour remove it [the previous one] ? If it's on your property, that's trespass.  :/
I'd start by clearing the weeds, and then you can see what the soil's like. That can be helpful in deciding on how to approach a problem.
Re the neighbour though - if they removed a previous plant, could they have done something to this one too? I'm thinking weed killer...

Not a problem to add to the thread, as it can certainly be helpful in many cases, but there's a problem with photos from much further back as they won't open - it can be hit and miss  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Did I say "sabotage"?

    Catherine.  You certainly confused me.

Dove.  Words are important.  If you use a word like "baby" in the wrong context it can lead to poor commmunication.  I was silly to reply in the same vein.  By babies, I meant bay seedlings.  (Slap on the wrist.)
