Need Advice on Cotoneaster
Hi All, Just need some advice please? when should i prune a cotoneaster? I am moving to a House with a couple in the Garden, as we will be pushed for space , i want to grow one up the fence and trim back the other, ( so my cat can watch birds from behind it lol, like she does now in the bamboo) all advice will be appreciated, thanks Connie

Cotoneaster can take a prune at almost any time of the year, spring is usually the best time to prune, so the flowers can form and the berries later in the year, but I have customers who insist on things being pruned and cotoneaster is one of them. If it's unruly them go ahead, you'll lose the berries, but needs must when the devil drives so to speak. It'll come back next year.
Thanks Dave, i didn't want to do it any harm ( as it is the Landlords plant) so i want to care for it best i can, thanks Connie
