Lovely isn't it Dove!  I've often admired phaeum but because it's dark and likes shade, it's a question of having something behind it to show it off well. Acid greens or a white flowering plant perhaps.

My sister gave me some little bits of her Kashmir white recently, so I'll grow them on and plant out in my shady border next spring. New shoots appearing on them when I looked a few days ago  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Some lovely colours pop up Dove in all different shades of purple i just let them self seed and move them about, we have a small wooded area and they do great in there, I'm sure there's a white phaeum Fairygirl seen a picture somewhereimage.

Ooo yes Verdum just googled great foliage another for the wish list image

A  really good doer is Geranium Pyrenaicum, I have Summer Sky and Summer Snow, prolific self seeders, cut right back after flowering and they flower twice sometimes 3 times.

Has anyone ever heard of one called Geranium Thunbergii Yoshinoi ?, another I was sent seed of many years ago but can't find any info on, wonder if its named right, lovely scrambling type with tiny, less than half an inch, magenta flowers (camera not picking up colour well)all summer long still flowering now.
