greenhouse tomato blight

My greenhouse tomatoes have blight. Is it too late to start again with new plants and could I succesfully remove the spores from the greenhouse, or would replacement plants immediately get reinfected?

  • Thanks for the advice. I think all the plants have it, so looks like a total clear out is on the cards. I think overstocking was also an issue. I bought a greenhouse this year as my outdoor tomatoes have always been blighted and I think I was a bit overenthusiastic!

Will clear them out and make space for the remaining peppers, chillis and aubergines ...

Useful tips on natural solutions and non-chlorinated water. Will certainly do that next year as just about to get a water butt and have just re-established my wormery!

Depending on which fungal problem it actually is, it doesn't have to mean a death sentence. Diseases like Early Blight take a long time to kill off a plant. Remove affected leaves as soon as they appear to give yourself a head start. Not overcrowding plants, allowing as much air circulation through the foliage as possible, is another natural aid against infection.
