I did a search on site to see if there was anything on this subject, as l was in the front garden yesterday, a bit chilled but glad of the fresh air. A lady stopped and said that she and her husband always admired our garden and appreciated the work that had gone into it.
I know that pride is a sin but it is nice to know that other people enjoy it, and she said it encouraged them to take an interest in their garden as well. We had a chat for about 20 minutes!
Hope you are still getting pleasure from your garden.
That’s lovely Anni, if that’s the extent of your sins I wouldn’t worry, you’ve started someone else on gardening, that can only be a good thing you could start up a plant swap with the neighbours.
Years ago my dad planted hundreds of snowdrops on a grass verge outside our bungalow, it’s now covered almost and people slow down in their cars to look, I feel a sense of pride that dad grew those just for other people as we can’t see them from the house.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
