Protecting the outside tap from frost

    Last year we bought an outside storm tap cover from DIY shed.£5.98. did what it was supposed to do very well. Much the same design as on the utube video

    Indeed, there are plenty of tap frost protectors about in any DIY shop for less than a fiver - but this is indeed appropriate technology - I'd use thick garden wire rather than a bungee, but that's just me maybe.

    Funny you should mention mixer taps Philippa, my mum had a mixer tap with the easy handles put in about 8 years ago, now, bearing in mind she died 3 years ago, so tap only 5 years old, it started to drip, I asked our builder friend if he could put a washer in as it was dripping, he said no washers in those, you throw them away when they start to drip!

    DONT WE ALL PANSY?  YOU COULD TRY A TISSUE ROLLED UP, DONT THROW IT AWAY JUST FOR A DRIP, THERES ALREADY TOO MUCH WASTE. ?

    NOT A TEAR IN SIGHT WHEN PEELING ONIONS, JUST HURTS LIKE HELL. THERE ARE PEOPLE WORSE OFF IN THE EYE DEPARTMENT THOUGH, SO NO COMPLAINTS.?
