Can anyone tell me what this is?
Hi everyone,
We have some very large weeds in our garden that seem to to be taking over!!! I've added a picture. Does anyone know what they are? the leaves and stalks are quite large, and they seem to be growing what can only be described as a "fruit" spikey things!!
they also smell horrible when you disturb the plants
Any help much appreciated
Thanks
Dan

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Ah thank you, that is it......little bit alarmed having read your link, is this somehting I need to be concerned about, I really want to get rid of it, but not sure the best way
It's fascinating but it is toxic - but then so are many plants in our gardens. If you have children in the garden I'd pull it up now. If not I would just make sure it's pulled up and bagged and binned before the seeds begin to ripen. Wear long sleeves and gloves.

All I have ever done is to pull it up and put the plant in the bin. Wash your hands maybe afterwards.
Thanks for the info everyone, I shall attempt to get rid of it this weekend....with care!!
