How to grow a nectarine in a pot inside an unheated greenhouse?

I have a nectarine in a large plastic pot in compost which has never flowered yet which is about 3 years old. I have cut all the stems off but kept 3 main stems but only get leaves and more leaves. Does anyone have some tips to pass on about how to get a nectarine to flower then fruit?
