tatty toms

My tomatoes (cherry variety) are growing well in a growbag in the greenhouse and each plant has 5-6 trusses of fruit / flowers. However, there is so much foliage that the fruits aren't getting much light. Can anyone advise whether it will be ok to remove some of the leaves or will it damage the plant? I have pinched out the tops as they are touching the glass. interestingly, I have one tom plant, same variety in a deep pot and it is also full of fruit but with less leaves - different nitrogen levels in compost I guess.

I take off the lower leaves - this avoids them getting splashed and contracting moulds when watering - then if there are a lot of leaves you can remove some of them, but remember that the plant does need leaves in order to produce and ripen the fruit.

Also, the fruit don't need to see the sun, it's the warmth rather than the light that ripens them image
