Fruit trees

in Fruit & veg
Cooking apple, desert apple and a plum or cherry. Looking either Dwarf or semi dwarf due to space and slightly raised planting area. Do I need all to pollenate at the same time and do dwarf and semi dwarf need staking constantly? Any recommendations for pest/disease resistant varieties will be gratefully received. Looking to allow pot grown to get established and then sow wild flowers underneath.

Brilliant, thank you very much, looking forwards to my mini orchard taking shape.
Hi Bobby E, i dont understand Buddyboys answer to you but you need to talk to the place where you are buying from ,tell them what your trying to do ,if its a nursery or Gard/cent,they will give you all the info you need as to what to buy ,Yes your trees do need to be able to pollinate each other and there are lists of what pollinates what , here is a little advise from RHS just for you to look at but its just as easy to talk to your surlier, what area are you renovating Bobby

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thank you Alan and DFA. I think Buddy was sending general fruit tree info, it is a useful link. We have honey bees but not having grown fruit trees before i am unfamiliar with their pollination. We are renovating the lot, 30 years of neglect has resulted in most things having to be removed (a slow and labour intensive/costly process) it will all look good again one day!!
Orange Pippin trees website is great DFA, thank you.
