What type of apple tree is this?

I grew it from seed and it is the first time it has apples.

hard to tell at this time of year, you'll have to wait till the apples are ready, but if you grew it from a seed it very well may be a new variety, as apples don't come true from seed.

even if the seed you got was from an eating apple quite often orchards use cooking (or even crab) apples as a pollinator, so it may be a bit tart for eating. (but very nice in a crumble!)

    Hi Saltlick image

If you grew this appletree from pip from an apple you had then it will be a totally new variety, having some of it's genetic material from the tree the apple grew on, and some from whichever apple tree or trees' blossom it was pollinated with.

Do you know what type of apple it was you got the pip from?

I got an apple from sainsburus and it was sweet quite large (i think it was years ago).

I have photos of it when it was tiny so I can give a date if needed.

It was very flimsy and had white dust on it.  Than I put it outside everyday for a few hours.

Than repotted it.  than put it in a bucket and left it outside.  than planted it.

And it had brown on the leaves but that got less as it got bigger.

recently it had white flowers on it.  and now apples all over it.

i grew two and one is planted in a shady area and someone else cut the top off because they did not know what it was.

despite that they are both growing well.  but one has apples so far.
