I have the same problems! Not tryied the ballet dancing, but doesn't seem worth the effort. I've given up on trying to sow seeds in my new veg patch. Too wet for most things. Then in the dry spells I'm watering what I have put in!
Most of that is 'bolting' due to stress!
Half my plot has 6" cracks in. The other half too wet to walk on. Why can't we just eat the weeds? There's plenty of those.
