Bob, just been looking at my peach trees, i actually suspect one is a nectarine, but never mind, pretty much the same. They have put on an enormous amount of growth in the last two months, must have doubled in size, and are thretening to escape the bus shelter made for them, do you reckon i should cut them back again after such a severe haircut a few months back ?
I'd leave them be at the moment and do the pruning in spring, just as the flower buds are starting to show colour. That way you can see which branches are going to bear fruit and can avoid losing too many of those.

We planted out a nectarine that germinated from a stone. Decided to plant it out and has grown brilliantly. Suffered a bit from leaf curl but a twice yearly treatment of Bordeaux mixture helped out with that problem
