May be a nice chance for you to ask for something on the seed and plant wish list that Bekkie started.

Keep at it, it will be good next year.

I chopped my lupins down today, it left big gaps but i have some rudbeckia to go in now, they bloom right through till winter.

  • Lyn, can you direct me to Bekkie's seed / plant wish list?

Pansyface, as your garden is hitting it's stride now, what specific plants are you growing?

    and autumn and winterimage

Just beginning now I have Inula hookeri, hardy fuchsias are looking good and Verbena bonariensis. Geranium 'Rozanne' goes on for weeks and youcan alter the flowering of buddleias by when you prune them.

Crocosmias to come, all mine are quite late and some asters but not those mildewed Michaelmas daisies. Some of the roses will have showy hips later and it won't be long before Cyclamen hederifolium wakes up, they go on for months

I can't add much more  as you have already been given some good advice. You have to be careful you don't over feed ,as this will make the plants soft and sappy   Your cottage garden path is beautiful and will set off  cottage plants.in spring everything

My hardy geraniums had got leggy so I have cut them hard back .they should give another show  and should Bush up too. I do this with quite a few and continually dead head.

Right now you may be able to drop on plants in the sale corner to fill up the spaces.I usually go for the plants which will come back year after year.I also bung them in close together to cut down on weeds.

Would it help you to look over  V e r d u n s     thread  "the star in your garden right now " you could use some  of these for ideas. Make a list for next year .( this is what I do )..........I am also in the cottage garden society which works well for me .......specially the seed exchange . It's  very interesting.

  • Thanks so much, Lucky 3, for the suggestion!  I'll take a look and get some ideas image
