Stephanandra incisa Crispa taking over

Hi guys,

I have a Stephanandra incisa Crispa in my driveway that's spread like wildfire. I've cut it back to the root but the area (approx 25sqm) is completely full of the root system. 

I would like to get rid of the whole lot and replace it but digging by hand is a nightmare. Any suggestions?

    Do scouts still do Bob a job week.?

    School summer holidays coming up. I recommend a strong 15 year old and a little tuition. There must be some kid in the area who wants to earn some money.

    Unfortunately, that's not an option, but i'd like to know if anybody else has tackled this problem.
