Tattianna thanks for the advice, someone mentioned last year that they successfully grew peas in hanging baskets as it removed the slug problem. I have had self seeded plants in the past, I just assumed that it needed the right set of conditions.

Kate- am growing some this year around the edges of large terracotta pots, filled with cosmos, so that they hang down over the edges. well that's the plan. Have chosen a more 'compact' variety, but would think any should work.

Pinched the idea from seeing them used in that way at RHS Harlow Carr last year. J.

kate I ve got some growing in my hanging baskets Like you I had a surplus of plants -gave some away and put 2 in each of the hanging baskets in front already had a couple of flowers and they've started twining around the chains The variety I grew were Carnevale di Venezia which are quite vigorous but hey..............!!!!

Only problem being that you shouldn't feed them as they won't flower as well so I guess I'll have a lot of foliage.

Got myself a heated propagator a couple of years ago to give seeds a good start and have had nearly 100% success rate . Love it - better than shoes !!!

Jo I was concerned about growing them with other plants as I was worried that they would wind around their stems. Let us know how it goesimage

Jean thank for the tip about feeding, I only have MG in my baskets so I can avoid feeding them. I remember the days when I bought shoesimage
