Fast growing shrub

Hi can anyone recommend a fast growing evergreen shrub which is hardy? I have 2 dogs who like to pee on plants and live near the pentland hills so get very cold winters at times.  a shurb with some form of flower/ berries would be ideal. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Some of the evergreen viburnums are pretty fast growing. The name escapes me of the one I have...............

    • I would go for Escallonia Macrantha (Rubra) . This is a fast growing shrub and it has glossy green leaves, evergreen and has bright red flowers during summer.
  • Thanks everyone definitely food for thought image

Would Escallonia's hardiness be suspect in the Pentland Hills? They are near Edinburgh which has very cold east winds. I think Berberis Juliana is quite fast growing, but is not the most ornamental evergreen Berberis.
