Hi everyone,

I've been waiting for this thing to flower and impatiently opened a few buds trying to work out what is was...

It got smashed up in the winds the other day so I chopped some of it down only to realise it was a branch with flowers on it...

It's hollow stemmed and about 8' high.

Mine are all bent over too. My problem is that the overwintered plants look like dandelions and are in great danger of being dug out.

The flowers are almost identical to Catananche, or cupids dart when open, but the buds and plant habit are different.

When I first noticed it, Fidgetbones, I thought 'what a big dandelion'image

Then I went through a phase of hoping it might be an evening primrose and then it outgrew everything in my weed book...

Never seen one before, at least not one floweringimage
