Garden bird feeder
I have two wild bird peanut feeders in my garden, one is a newer one which is in use and one is an older on which has been sitting in the bushes unused for some time now. Recently I have decided to try to make my garden more wildlife friendly and attract more of wildlife into my garden and so I got the old peanut feeder out and cleaned it up so I could fill it and use it with the newer one to attract more birds. However, after I cleaned it I noticed that on some of the feeding mesh some of the coating (im not sure what it is made of) has come of and exposed the metal underneath which has gone slightly rusty. Because of this I was just wondering if it is okay to carry on using it or if I should stop using it and get a new one so that it is safer for the birds. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would bin the rusty one, use the other one if its for peanuts, and get a new one to put mixed seeds in. They love those flat suet blocks, our pet shop sell a holder for them for just over a pound.
Amazon have some very good suet blocks at 10 fof £7.99.
Some birds are ground feeders only so some seed down would be good. Its always best to make sure its all gone by the night, you dont want to atract rats.
If you are going to use fat balls, could I ask you to take the netting of and put them in a holder please, birds get caught, I have rescued ones with beaks and feet caught in them.
If you can afford it, a wild bird book is handy to identify what comes to your food,
