How. Do I use a cold frame

    I had really only thought of them as a place to harden off seedlings - so there are many more options.  

    What would be the best aspect for one - shade, sun or semi shade?

    I thing you're right about that, pansyface, but there won't be dew (or frost, with any luck) inside the frame anyway.

    Thanks all for the advice.  I'll stick a cold frame on my wanted listimage
