Weeding big borders
Hi there
I can remember that there was a thread about this about a month or so ago but I can't remember what the conclusion was. I've got a new hedge and flowers in front of the hedge in a border and I'm having difficulties reaching the hedge to weed. Is there such a thing as a grasping weeder with a long handle? I've had a look round but can't see anything. The weeds are very weak so wouldn't take a lot of pulling so I don't need the Fiskar's type of thing (I already have one of those and it's great for dandy lions and thistles but you have to be vertically on top of the weed for it to work).

I have the same issue. I have placed bricks throughout the border to stand on. Just means that I stand in the same place each time so don't compact the whole border.
Great, thanks Pauline and Supernoodle. I think I can use a combination of a board at the front and some stepping bricks just in front of the hedge.
