Out of Control Grapevine

Apologies if this has been covered before. I am trying to get on top of the garden I have inherited as we have just moved house. I have a huge grapevine that is wildly out of control to the point that it is seriously encroaching on other plants. Can I cut the grapevine back now to how it ought to be in the winter so I don't have to worry about it until next year or is this likely to have a negative impact? As I have another couple of vines elsewhere in the garden so I am not fussed about yield. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
