Urgent advise required regarding seeding a lawn now!!

A friend us seeding his back garden now even though I have told him it's completely the wrong time, however, what does he have to do to ensure it takes??? I said water it every morning and evening but am hoping for any other useful information!! Any help would be much appreciated

    Grass seed germinates best in the cooler moist conditions of April and September.  Too much watering to get it to grow now will simply wash away the seed and a lot will go to the birds.  Ask him if his budget includes a second batch of seed for september sowing.

    Ok great thank you! Yes he has a budget for sept as to do it is pretty cheap

    It will hopefully be damper by then, but on the other hand, I cant see the end of the garden here today for rain. If he does it later there will be less chance of people walking on it.

    A bag of seed isnt much to risk, ive done it at the wrong time and it worked, HOWEVER i was only making a disabled loo for my dog at the time! image
