It's gardeningfantic that is after some Agastache Becky. I wouldn't get anymore as I think my garden doesn't drain well enough to keep them or something...
I'm not sure whether to describe it as nettle like or more like a salvia as I've never got one to flower... Verdun has some pics on the garden gallery thread, a blue one and an orange one...
Hi all, I am wondering if anyone can answer my question, I grew chives for the first time this year, I have been cutting the leaves by half constantly, but never bringing the plant below half its normal height, I used them in champ, salads etc.
I decided to stop chopping them when they started to go to flower as I wanted to keep the seed
They are the purple flowering type, very pretty
They have flowered and now are starting to go to seed, but now they have rust spots on the leaves, is this normal, if not, what can I do to fix the problem, and will the seeds be ok?
If you already have chives, you can divide the clumps to make more. If they have rust ,I would cut them down hard, water and feed, and they will send up fresh green shoots. Divide in Spring.
I have Tarragon in flower! Beautiful purple flower on long stems, that strangely smells more like lavender than the leaves that smell completely different!
Any way, if I can get seeds from them, I will be posting them here, there a bee/butterfly magnet! There are plenty of flowers, so hopefully plenty of seeds from them.

Thanks Fidgetbones, I was thinking of cutting them down to the base, but worried it may kill of the plant! Any idea why it gets rust spots?
Rust spores are everywhere and it's a bad year for them. I always cut any chives I use from the base,
The chances of killing chives are remote
In the sticks near Peterborough
PS I eat chives like some people eat sweeties! So to devide is of course a great idea, but I wanted more plants as I ran out several times this year!
Good to know that I cant kill them Nutcatlet
