Strawberrys

I had a couple of strawberry plants that had grown many off shoots with what looked like roots and new plants a even gaps.

I cut these shoots off  and planted them but they have all wilted like they are dying even though I have kept the water moist.

Have I cut the right part off the mother plant?

    Did you ensure the runners were growing well on their own roots before you cut them adrift? It sounds as though you cut them off too soon.

    These are called "runners" and you need to let them root into a pot while they are still attached to the mother plant.  After a few weeks they will have grown their own roots and you can cut the connection.  There's a video showing you how to do it on youtube:

    Woops! my runners were hanging over the side of the pot for a few weeks and I just cut them off image
